The Life Of An Air Fryer Owner

Take caution towards people who own an air fryer.

Those people act like they are better than everyone else. Unfortunately, I have recently become “those people”, and I love it!

At first, I tried to humble myself and cook everything in a skillet.

One day, I heard a quiet whisper coming from my freezer.

The whisper said, “put me in the air fryer”. As I cautiously approached the freezer, the whisper started to become louder.

Once the freezer door swung open, it was crystal clear that I was hearing, “put me in the air fryer”, and that was by my chicken wings.

The Results From My Actions

I did not want to anger any spirit that was possessing my chicken wings, so I did what was told for me to do and put the chicken wings in the air fryer.

The chicken wings came out in a golden brown hue that looked even better once it was coated in a spicy BBQ sauce.

How can something so wrong be so right? I mean, these air fry chicken wings did my taste buds justice for sure.

Brown Sugar And Hot Sauce

When I was creating the air fryer chicken wings recipe, I did not know what sauce to throw on it.

Then, it occurred to me. One of the best sauces I ever had on wings was a sauce that was created with brown sugar and hot sauce.

I was introduced to the spicy BBQ sauce a while back, but all that deliciousness stayed with me over the years.

Moreover, every time I think about brown sugar and hot sauce together, my mouth starts to water.

Once the sauce was done and the wings were fried, I started tossing the wings in the sauce.

Furthermore, the sauce is beautifully coated over the wings.

In addition, with some chopped green onions over the wings as a garnish, I knew at that point that I created something special.

How Long Do Wings Take In The Air Fryer?

Wings take up to 12-16 minutes to cook. For this recipe, the wings to exactly 16 minutes to cook, and the wings were flipped after the first 8 minutes.

Can You Put Raw Chicken In An Air Fryer?

Yes, you can put raw chicken in an air fryer.

Now, granted, I cooked these wings in the oven before I put them in the air fryer because I wanted the meat to be tender and get as close to falling off the bone as possible with fried chicken wings.

With that being said, if I have to cook all of my food before I put them in the air fryer, then there would be no point in using the air fryer, to begin with.

Are Air Fryer Chicken Wings Healthy?

To say that air fryer chicken wings are healthy is debatable.

However, it is safe to say that putting wings in the air fryer is healthier than cooking wings in oil.

By using an air fryer, you cut down on the calories that come from the oil.

Also, the air fryer can reduce the amount of acrylamide that is produced due to frying your food.

In return, this will reduce the chances of you receiving cancer due to eating fried food.

How Many Wings Can Fit In An Air Fryer?

I fit 14 drums and flats into my air fryer when I made this recipe, and that was somewhat of a struggle to fit those wings in the air fryer.

This will be 7 pieces of wings if you are not separating the flats and drums from each other.

Keep in mind, if you are cooking the chicken wings whole, the wingtips will still be attached, so you may be only able to fit 6 wings. Also, the number of wings that can fit into an air fryer will vary based on what type of air fryer that you have.

What Temperature To Air Fry Chicken Wings?

When I air fry my chicken wings, I cook them at 360 degrees.

Other air fryer chicken wing recipes use this same temperature to cook their chicken wings.

On the other hand, I am sure there is a recipe using any temperature other than 360 degrees.

The Best Spicy BBQ Sauce?

The best spicy BBQ sauce is the BBQ sauce that is used for the recipe. On the contrary, once I make some more of the chipotle BBQ sauce, I am sure my tune will change.

What To Add To BBQ Sauce To Make It Spicy?

Cayenne pepper and red crushed pepper flakes are great for spicing up your BBQ sauce.

Notably, the sauce used for this recipe incorporates hot sauce.

Additionally, hot sauce gives the sauce a kick, and the brown sugar balance everything else out.
