What is better than a bacon cheese burger? If you have guessed bacon cheese burger pizza, then you are correct! Hamburger lovers may not agree with me on this, but my pizza lover is going to ride with me on this one.

Top 4 And Bacon Cheese Burger Pizza Is Not Number 4

Call me bias all you like, but a bacon cheese burger pizza is too good to pass up. If I have to rate my top 4 favorite pizzas of all time, this bacon cheeseburger pizza is number 3.

Number 1 would be a supreme pizza, kind of like the Italian chipotle pizza. Granted, this recipe is not the traditional supreme pizza, but this recipe uses the foundation of the supreme pizza and takes it to the next level.

The reason this is my favorite pizza is that not only does it have my favorite topping, but also the other toppings on the pizza go perfect with pepperoni.

Number 2 would be a pepperoni pizza. As basic as a pepperoni pizza may be, it still contains my favorite topping of all time.

Unfortunately, whenever I order a pepperoni pizza, I am never satisfied with the amount of pepperoni that is placed on my pizza.

So, I decided to create a pepperoni pizza of my own. This pepperoni lover pizza will show you why I love pepperoni pizza so much.

Since you already know what number 3 is, let us talk about my fourth favorite pizza, and which is the classic sausage and pepperoni pizza.

I love a good sausage and pepperoni pizza, so you would think that I would eat that over normal pepperoni pizza.

Truth be told, I will order a pepperoni and sausage pizza over a pepperoni pizza whenever I have a taste for sausage, but in general, I am going with the pepperoni pizza all day.

The Love For A Bacon Cheese Burger Pizza

Bacon Cheese Burger Pizza is more than just a pizza, it is my first childhood crush. Yes, you read that right, and I have no shame for my love for everything pizza. Even now, one of my favorite feelings is when I eat a huge pizza on an empty stomach.

When I was a child, my father would order pizza every Thursday. Why was it on a Thursday specifically, I do not know, but as long as I have gotten my pizza, I was not about to ask any questions!

At one of the pizza joints that he would get pizza from, they had the option of getting special pizzas. Of course, one of those options was the bacon cheeseburger pizza, and I fell in love ever since.

This pizza is single-handily the reason why I was a BBM growing up. If you do not know what is a BBM, it is the opposite of a BBW.

So, yes, I was a big beautiful man, which is a pleasant way of saying that I was fat.

Plus, I was still a minor, so I guess you can say that I was a BBB, which is a big beautiful boy, but enough about that. Let’s get back to the subject of this pizza.

  • 3/4 tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Light Olive Oil (In Dough Mixture)
  • 1/4 tsp Light Olive Oil (During Kneading Process)
  • 1/4 tsp Light Olive Oil (After Letting Dough Rise)
  • 1 tsp White Sugar
  • 3/4 cups Water, Room Temperature

Pizza Sauce:

  • 1 cup crushed tomatoes
  • 1 oz Onions, diced
  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tbsp White sugar
  • 1/2 tsp Basil leaves
  • 1/4 tsp oregano leaves
  • 1/8 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tbsp Light Olive oil

Pizza Toppings:

  • 8 Oz Beef (80% Lean, 20% Fat)
  • 3/4 Tsp Salt
  • 4 Slices Bacon
  • 3/4 Tsp Black Pepper
  • 1/2 A Large Onion
  • 3 Garlic Cloves
  • 5 Oz Sharp White Cheddar Cheese (Use Block Cheese)
  • 3 Cups Mexican Blended Cheese

 Equipment and Tools

  • Oven
  • Parchment Paper
  • Pizza Peel
  • Mixing Bowl With Lid
  • 12 Inch Cast Iron Skillet
  • Pot
  • Skillet
  • Mixing Spoon
  • Stand Mix (Optional)
  • Bread Maker (Optional)
  • Cookie Sheet (Optional)
  • Rolling Pin (Optional)
  • Pizza Cutter (Optional)

Prepare The Dough

Initial Ingredients For Dough:

  • 1/2 tsp Salt
  • 2 cups All-Purpose flour
  • 3/4 tsp Active Dry Yeast
  • 1 1/2 tbsp Light Olive Oil
  • 1 tsp White sugar
  • 3/4 cups Water, Room Temperature

Steps

  • Knead the dough until it’s smooth. If you have a stand mixer, then you can use that to knead the dough.
  • Knead the dough into a nice round ball, and rub 1/4 tbsp of oil on the dough.
  • Place dough in a sealed container and let rest for 1 hour.
  • After an hour, knead the dough into a round ball again, rub the dough with the rest of the oil again, then place the pizza dough in a sealed container for another hour.
  • During this resting period, preheat the oven with an iron grid inside to the highest oven temperature (550 degrees) for 30 minutes, then put the oven on high broil for another 30 mins. After 30 minutes the oven will be ready to use, but keep it on high broil because that will be the setting to cook the pizza.
  • Flatten the pizza dough into a round 10 – 12 inch pizza by using your fingertips.

Using A Bread Maker For The Dough (Optional)

The first thing you would want to do is to put the wet ingredients into the bread maker. Next, add the dry ingredients and turn the bread maker on the dough cycle.

The bread maker will do its thing and a timer will show up letting you know when the dough is ready. If you are good at making the dough by hand, then the bread maker is not needed.

When the dough is ready, sprinkle some flour on a flat surface and place the dough on the area with the flour. The flour will help prevent the dough from sticking to the surface.

Use the rolling pin to flatten the dough out into a pizza shape. After that, place the dough on the parchment paper and cookie sheet.

Keep in mind, that when you are using a rolling pin, you are pushing the air out of the dough.

I recommend using a rolling pin if you are making a thin-crust pizza. For everything else, use your fingertips.

Making The Pizza Sauce

  1. Sauté onion in oil until light brown.
  2. Add the rest of the ingredients and cook for about 10 minutes on medium heat.

What Pizza Toppings Go Well With Bacon?

When you are adding the ingredients, first add the tomato sauce, then add your bacon, cheese, beef, garlic, and onions to the prepared pizza dough.

Cooking Your Toppings

Add the beef and 1/2 teaspoon of salt and black pepper into the skillet, then cook the beef for 10 minutes on medium heat. While the beef is cooking, dice up the bacon, onion, and garlic.

Next, remove the beef from the skillet, then cook the bacon in the grease that was leftover from the beef.

The bacon will cook for 7 minutes on medium heat. Once cooked, remove the bacon and add the diced onion and garlic, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt and black pepper to the grease in the skillet.

Cook the onion and garlic for 6 minutes, then remove the diced onion and garlic from the skillet.

Stuffing The Crust

With your block of cheese, you will cut them into sticks that will cover the edge of the pizza dough. Once the edge is completely covered, fold the crust onto the sticks of cheese. Make sure that the crust is completely sealed once the cheese is covered.

Putting The Bacon Cheese Burger Pizza In The Oven

As mentioned before, preheat the oven with an iron grid inside to the highest oven temperature for 30 minutes, then put the oven on high broil for 30 minutes.

Flatten the pizza on parchment paper and add your sauce, cheese, onions, and meat. Then, with the parchment paper still under the dough, put the pizza in the oven on top of the cast-iron skillet for 4-5 minutes.

Make sure to use the pizza peel so that you don’t burn yourself. Remember, the oven will stay on high broil until the pizza is ready.

If You Are Using A Cookie Sheet Instead Of A Cast Iron Skillet (Optional)

Disclaimer: The pizza will not come out the same using the cookie sheet method, but the pizza will be delicious all the same.

The oven will preheat at 450 degrees. When the oven is hot enough, put the pizza inside and let it cook for 12 minutes. Take the pizza out of the oven and let it cool for 10 minutes.

Once the pizza cools down, start cutting it into slices and enjoy.
