Baked Chicken Legs Used In A Keto Parmesan Chicken Recipe?

Chicken is probably one of the few foods that can be a primary ingredient for multiple recipes, yet if you eat all those recipes back to back you still wouldn’t get tired of chicken, or at least I wouldn’t.

There are so much variety of chicken recipes available. Now if I had to make a top-tier list of chicken recipes best believe a parmesan chicken recipe would be up there.

With that in mind, I decided to make a keto parmesan chicken recipe. Yes, you heard right, this recipe is keto-friendly. Also, this recipe was made with baked chicken legs because, well, why not?

How Do You Make The Best Chicken Legs?

How to make the best chicken legs is subjective. For it to be the best in some people’s eyes the chicken legs have to be BBQ’d. Some people may want their chicken legs to be garlic or honey-glazed flavor.

Without the chicken legs being a specific flavor they are already disqualified to be the best for those individuals.

Some people will prefer baked chicken legs and some will prefer their chicken fried. I enjoy all flavors of chicken and I like baked and fried chicken, but for me, the best chicken legs are the ones that fall off the bone.

To achieve these baked chicken legs that fall off the bone you have to bake your chicken with the chicken being covered. This way the steam will cook the chicken, helping the chicken fall off the bone.

What Temperature Should Chicken Be Cooked To In The Oven?

If you want your baked chicken legs to fall off the bone the best way to cook them is at a low temperature. In my experience, I cooked chicken that fell off the bone using temperatures ranging from 300 to 450 degrees.

The lower the temperature, the less you have to monitor it without worrying about the chicken burning. The higher the temperature the less time it will take to cook the chicken, however, make sure that you check on the chicken more frequently to avoid any mishaps.

Are Chicken Legs Healthy?

Chicken Legs being healthy depends on a few variables. In the process of making your chicken healthy to eat you first need to remove the chicken skin. As tasty as the skin may be, it is full of unhealthy fats.

The next thing that will determine if your chicken is healthy is the type of ingredients you used to prepare the food. If you are adding ingredients with high sugar and high carbs to your chicken legs, then the chance of that dish still being healthy is slim to none.

This particular recipe is keto parmesan chicken that can be deemed as healthy. Furthermore, if you decide not to remove the skin from the baked chicken legs the meal will still be considered keto-friendly.

Is Chicken OK On Keto?

Chicken by itself is keto-friendly. Additionally, recipes using multiple ingredients like my keto parmesan chicken is low in carbs, but this is based on the ingredients and the portion of those ingredients used.

Per serving the number of carbs in this chicken parmesan recipe is 2.5 grams. This may vary depending on the tomato sauce and cheese used. Just an FYI cheese is usually low in carbs and I didn’t use the most keto-friendly tomato sauce.

However, 3 servings worth of this chicken parmesan recipe only required half the serving of the tomato sauce, which cut down on the carbs tremendously.

What Side Goes With Parmesan Chicken?

Imagine you are eating a delicious parmesan chicken without any sides. Okay, that isn’t too hard to imagine, but have some sides with your meal is still nice.

Visualize this scene. You are eating a keto parmesan chicken because you are trying to be healthy, in that case, a salad of steamed vegetables would be the best side dish.

On the other hand, if you are not trying to be so healthy then you can eat your parmesan chicken with some pasta or breadsticks.

Does Parmesan Chicken Have Parmesan Cheese?

A parmesan chicken recipe actually having parmesan cheese would depend on the chef. If a parmesan chicken recipe didn’t have parmesan cheese then usually the recipe would use mozzarella or provolone cheese instead.
