The gold sauce recipe is the sauce for the ages. So, what are we waiting for? Let us make the Carolina gold BBQ sauce recipe.

The Gold Sauce Recipe

Carolina Gold BBQ Sauce is a traditional Southern-style sauce that has been around for a long time.

As you can imagine, this sauce originated in Carolina, South Carolina to be exact. To be more specific, this recipe was created around the area close to Charleston.

This sauce was commercialized in the 1970s by a guy named Maurice Bessinger.

Unfortunately, this man was a terrible person, but I would be lying if I said that the sauce he created was terrible.

This sauce is a unique blend of vinegar and spices that gives it a tangy flavor and aroma. Also, sugar is usually added to give the sauce a sweet taste just like any other BBQ sauce.

Furthermore, the most important ingredient in this sauce is mustard. Although this is a BBQ sauce, the sauce itself uses mustard as the base.

In fact, mustard is what helps the sauce get its golden color. Where else did you think the name Carolina gold came from?

The sauce is perfect for marinating meats and adding to your favorite recipes. Whether you’re grilling or smoking, Carolina Gold BBQ Sauce will give your dishes an extra kick of flavor.

Try it today and experience the unique taste of this classic Southern-style sauce!

What Flavor Is Carolina Gold?

This sauce has a bit of a flavor that will remind you that you are eating a BBQ sauce. To be specific, the flavor is sweet and tangy. You can make it spicy as well.

As mentioned earlier, it reminds me of honey mustard. The sweetness comes from the honey and light brown sugar, while the tangy flavor comes from the mustard, which is the main ingredient.

Funny enough, I added already-made BBQ sauce to this recipe, and that added both tangy and sweetness to this incredible appetizer.

Why Is It Called Carolina Gold?

It got its name from the origin being in Carolina, and the color of the sauce being gold.

Is Carolina Gold Brown Or White?

The sauce is closer to brown than it is white. This is due to the mustard and brown sugar that are used for the recipe.

Also, this sauce is not brown or white, it is gold. If the sauce was brown or white, then it would be called Carolina brown or Carolina White.

What Is Carolina Gold Seasoning?

The seasoning used for this is garlic powder, onion powder, and black pepper.
