My Love For A Quesadilla

I love quesadillas. They’re easy to make, they’re delicious, and they can be eaten as a main dish or as a side dish. Who am I kidding? I do not care if the dish is a main dish or a side dish, as long as it tastes right I’ll be there every night, or whatever Nelly said.

With the exception of my top three favorite foods, no other type of food gives me more joy than a perfectly cooked chicken quesadilla.

My go-to is usually my homemade fresh guacamole recipe and salsa on the side for dipping. Some people eat sour cream with quesadillas, but I am not one of them.

I could come up with some type of adorable story like “my love for quesadillas developed during high school when I was that one random teenage boy that dedicated himself to good eating.”

Unfortunately, I do not remember when I fell in love with quesadillas, but I love them all the same.

So, it was a no-brainer to create a chicken and cheese quesadilla recipe. That is my go-to because you can go wrong with that.

I do, however, like to eat other types of quesadillas when I am feeling a bit more on the experimental side.

The Best Chicken Quesadilla Recipe You Will Ever Taste!

This recipe is a favorite of mine because it is so simple to make and tastes delicious. Moreover, a quesadilla is in my top four dishes of all time. To be even more specific, my go-to for quesadillas is a chicken and cheese quesadilla recipe.

Now, don’t misconstrue the header by saying that this is the best chicken quesadilla recipe of all time. Granted, this is the best chicken quesadilla recipe of all time, but this recipe is easy to make.

Of course, this is the case because less is more. All you need is meat, cheese, spices, veggies, oil, a tortilla shell, and a few minutes. At that point, you will have delicious quesadillas in no time.

How Many Calories In A Chicken And Cheese Quesadilla Recipe?

The number of calories in a chicken quesadilla will depend on the recipe that is creating the quesadilla. The reason for this is that each recipe will vary with the ingredients that are being used.

Also, the variation in measurement needs to be taken into consideration as well. On average, chicken quesadillas are between 400-450 calories.

What Can You Put In A Quesadilla?

You can put anything that is edible in a quesadilla. This includes chicken breast, corn kernels, black beans, shredded cheese, bell pepper, jalapeño peppers, and this list goes on.

What Is The Best Cheese For Quesadillas?

Personally, the combination of mozzarella and sharp cheese was incredible in my chicken and cheese quesadilla recipe. However, if I had to use another cheese outside those two, it would be Oaxaca and Chihuahua cheese.

Ingredients

  • 1 oz Green Bell Pepper, Sliced
  • 2 oz Onion, Sliced or Diced
  • 2 tbsp Olive Oil
  • 12 oz Chicken Breast, Blended Lightly
  • 4 oz Sharp Cheddar
  • 4 High Fiber Tortilla Wraps 8 inch Diameter
  • 6 oz Mozzarella Cheese

Spices:

  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder
  • 1 tsp Onion Powder
  • 1/2 tsp Cayenne Pepper
  • 1/2 tsp Cumin
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper
  • 1 tsp Sazon Seasoning
  • 1 tsp Creole Seasoning

Equipment And Tools

  • Spatula
  • Skillet
  • Small Bowl
  • Knife
  • Cutting Board
  • Blender

Steps

Chicken Quesadilla Steps 1-3

  1. Cut the onions and bell peppers, then cook them in a skillet on low to medium heat for 5 minutes, or until the vegetables start to become tender.
  2. Place chicken breast into a blender so that the chicken can be diced up into small pieces. Next, add chicken to the skillet with the vegetables.
  3. Cook the chicken until you can barely see any pink.

Chicken Quesadilla Steps 4-6

  1. Add seasoning to your chicken and vegetables.
  2. Stir seasoning into the chicken and vegetables.
  3. Diced the sharp cheese, and add that into the skillet. Cook until the cheese is melted into the quesadilla mixture.

Chicken Quesadilla Steps 7-9

  1. Remove the chicken quesadilla mixture from the skillet.
  2. Add oil to the skillet, then add the tortilla shell into the skillet. Cook the tortilla until the edges start to become golden brown. This should be about a minute.
  3. Flip the tortilla over, and add the quesadilla mixture on top of the tortilla. Next, add mozzarella on top of the mixture.

Chicken Quesadilla Steps 10-12

  1. Fold the quesadilla.
  2. Remove the quesadilla from the skillet.
  3. Cut the quesadilla, and enjoy.

A quesadilla is great! The cheese, meat, and vegetables combine to form an additively delicious filling that is perfect in a cooked tortilla. Just thinking about it makes me smile from ear to ear.
