My Love For Chocolate
Is it true that you are what you eat? If so, this would explain why I am so chocolaty. I do not know if that is even a real word, but we are going to roll with it today.
It does not matter if you give me the chocolate as a treat, a cake, ice cream, etc. I will eat that chocolate, and I will enjoy every single bite, and this no-churn homemade rocky road Dutch chocolate ice cream recipe is no different.
The Dutch chocolate by itself is incredible, but then you have the pieces of a milk chocolate bar spread throughout the ice cream.
The pieces from the milk chocolate bar give the ice cream a delightful crunch full of chocolate greatness.
What’s In Rocky Road Ice Cream
This chocolate flavor ice cream has a variety of treats in it. These treats consist of nuts, marshmallows, more chocolate, etc.
For this recipe, we will have pieces of a milk chocolate bar in the ice cream. If you like, you can add even more ingredients to your ice cream if the milk chocolate bar pieces are not enough.
Imagine putting pieces of a peanut bar in this ice cream. That combination will go insane!
To be clear, I love chocolate and peanut butter together.
I didn’t realize how much I enjoy chocolate peanut butter cups until I was ready to fight everybody in my household over a simple, yet tasty treat.
Thinking back over all the times I thoughtlessly ate all the chocolate peanut butter cups, it is no wonder that I ended up creating an ice cream recipe using chocolate and peanut butter.
Remember, this recipe may not use peanut butter, but you are welcome to add peanut butter to this if you so desire.
Why Is It Called Dutch Chocolate?
Dutch chocolate got its name from a scientist who happened to be Dutch. He invented the process it takes to make Dutch chocolate.
Pretty simple explanation. I am pretty sure if the scientist was from Texas, that chocolate would be called Texas chocolate instead of Dutch chocolate.
What Is The Difference Between Chocolate And Dutch Chocolate?
There is most definitely a difference between regular chocolate and Dutch chocolate outside the name.
Furthermore, the name alone showcases the difference between the two chocolates.
The process of creating Dutch chocolate was created by a Dutch scientist, which is why chocolate made using this process is called Dutch chocolate.
Also, normal chocolate is somewhat acidic and full of flavor, while Dutch chocolate uses alkali to neutralize the acidity of the chocolate.
What Kind Of Nuts Are In Rocky Road Ice Cream?
You can use any nuts that you want for your ice cream. Traditionally, the nuts used for rocky roads are usually chopped almond nuts.
What Is The Craziest Ice Cream Flavor?
There are some weird ice cream flavors out there. You would be surprised at how out of the box these flavors are. If you got a taste for seafood, then try some oyster ice cream or some salmon ice cream.
If your seafood craving is a bit on the expensive side, then you should try lobster ice cream. Now, if you really want to go crazy, then you savor the flavor of the squid ink ice cream.
I have not tasted any of these flavors, so try them at your own risk.
Also, I heard there is pizza-flavored ice cream. That sounds kind of disgusting, but I love pizza so much that I am willing to try that flavor anyway.
Of course, I have to give an honorable mention to this no-churn homemade rocky road Dutch chocolate ice cream recipe. This is one of the little ice cream flavors that I consider to be crazy, yet it looks and tastes crazy delicious!
