I have an orange milkshake recipe that will knock your socks off. It is the orange Julius copycat recipe. It is delicious!

What Is An Orange Julius Recipe?

This recipe is used to create an orange flavored milkshake that is absolutely delicious! This recipe originated in the late 1920s from a man named Julius Freed.

This explains the name since the creator’s name is Julius, and this is an orange flavored beverage.

The Orange Julius is its own brand, but this product was also sold in a restaurant called Dairy Queen.

A Trip To Dairy Queen

I say this with all due respect. If I told you that I love Dairy Queen, then that is an exaggeration on my part. Dairy Queen is not a bad restaurant to eat, but I haven’t had anything there that blew my mind.

As a Texan, this statement should be blasphemy, but it is the truth, or at least it was the truth until I was told to try the orange Julius. I have to say, it is the best thing on their menu.

The drink was so good that I had to create my own version of the recipe. This is how the orange Julius copycat recipe came to be.

Also, once I heard that some of Dairy Queens will not be selling the beverage I immediately made this orange milkshake recipe.

What Is In The Orange Julius?

This drink consists of a mixture of ice, orange juice, sweetener, milk, powdered egg whites, and vanilla flavoring. For this orange milkshake recipe, some adjustments have been made.

For example, the only powder this recipe uses is malted milk powder. Also, malted milk powder is sweet so sweetener or extra sugar is not needed.

Furthermore, I never made a milkshake with egg whites, but hey! It sounds like an interesting ingredient to use for a milkshake.

Are Orange Julius Smoothies Healthy?

I want you all to try this orange milkshake recipe. With that being said, this drink is packed with sugar. In other words, this is not a healthy smoothie.

Now, if you want something delicious, then this orange milkshake recipe is for you.

Does Orange Julius Exist Anymore?

They still exist, but with fewer Dairy Queen stores selling them, it will be harder to purchase them.

On the contrary, with this recipe, you will not need to buy them. You can make the beverage yourself.
