The Hot Chocolate Pumpkin Spice Recipe Made Me A Believer
I was never big on anything pumpkin-flavored growing up. Honestly, I did not see what all the hype was about.
If I sit down and analyze my childhood, I can come up with a few conclusions as to why I felt the way that I did about pumpkin-flavored products.
For starters, let’s address the elephant in the room. The inside of a pumpkin is not a pleasant smell. Pumpkins stink, and if you have ever carved a pumpkin, then you know exactly what I am talking about.
Also, the taste of an actual pumpkin just is not the greatest in the world.
Blame It On The Pumpkin Pie
Another thing is that in my mind I compare pumpkins to sweet potatoes.
You are maybe asking, “why would you compare pumpkins to sweet potatoes?” Truthfully, the comparison of the two me maybe out of sheer ignorance.
This ignorance comes from the fact that I grew up in a household that will choose sweet potato pie over pumpkin pie. My way of thinking was, why eat pumpkin pie when I can eat sweet potato pie?
This way of thinking transferred from pies to everything else related to pumpkins. Ignorant, I know. Especially for a foodie like myself.
Thankfully, most pumpkin-flavored products are better than pumpkin pie and actual pumpkin.
Furthermore, I have been sleeping on the pumpkin flavor for too long, and it is time for me to wake up with this pumpkin spice hot chocolate recipe.
Why Pumpkin And Hot Chocolate?
I do not know if “seasoning” is the right word to describe it, but I had a pumpkin-flavored version of that with sugar. I guess you can call it pumpkin-flavored sugar.
No matter what you called it, I will call it good, but I figured it would be perfect once it is mixed with chocolate.
Soon after that, I made some hot chocolate, then it hit me like a cannonball. I should make a pumpkin spice hot chocolate recipe. Yeah, that will get the people going.
