Surf and turf-loaded sweet potato fries? Yes, please!

I don’t care about surf and turf near me when I can make surf n turf-loaded sweet potato fries that are better than your mama-baked sweet potato fries recipe.

My Surf And Turf Inspiration

Have you ever ordered a meal with shrimps and came to a realization that they barely give you any shrimps? That has happened to me more times than I would like. Why do all the restaurants that sell shrimp be so skimpy with them?

Is it because the demand for shrimps is too high for the supply to keep up? Maybe they are just greedy, who knows, but as tasty as shrimps are, I kind of can’t blame them.

I hate to be that person, but if you ask me for one of my shrimps, I may look at you like you are crazy. Shrimps are great by themselves self, but if you turn your shrimps into a surf n turf meal, then that is next-level eating.

Right, when you think your food can’t get any better, “Bam”, put your surf n turf and cheese over some sweet potato fries. Surf n turf-loaded sweet potato fries are top tier when it comes to baked sweet potato fries recipes.

I was happy to create this recipe because trying to find surf and turf near me at an affordable price is quite difficult. On top of that, when I am making the surf n turf I can be as creative as I want to be which would explain the surf n turf being over some sweet potato fries.

What Is Considered Surf N Turf?

Surf n turf is the main dish that consists of red meat and seafood. For this particular recipe, the red meat is the bacon, while the seafood derives from the shrimps being used.

Although the recipe uses ground turkey, you’re able to substitute the ground turkey with ground beef, which is another red meat. What will determine the substitution will be based on your preference.

You can ask yourself “are there any surf and turf near me”, but for your convenience, it would be in your best interest to create the surf n turf on your own.

What Are Good Side Sauces For Surf N Turf?

Sauces that go great with surf n turf are cocktail sauce, garlic aioli, steak sauce, and many more. The sauces I find to be extremely compatible with surf n turf are BBQ sauce and chipotle sauce.

Ironically enough, recipes for both of these sauces are located on this website. You can try this recipe out with some Hawaiian BBQ sauce, or you can use some chipotles BBQ sauce.

Best Drinks To Serve With Surf and Turf Dishes?

The spicy surf and turf-loaded sweet potato fries recipe are excellent to eat at any time of the day. In light of this fact, these fries taste amazing during brunch when you’re sipping on a brunch cocktail.

Ideally, both mimosas and Bahama Mama mimosas go great with this recipe, and if you don’t want a mimosa then try this cinnamon whiskey cocktail to wash your food down.

Why Do They Call It Surf And Turf?

The seafood represents the surf, while the animals that are on land represent the turf. Pretty neat name if you ask me. It would be nice to have surf and turf near me, but sadly there are not many options.

Granted, depending on your location, you may have places that have tons of options for surf n turf meals. However, the closest you will get to surf n turf at these restaurants are shrimp and steak.

Are Sweet Potato Fries Better For You Than French Fries?

From a taste perspective, wanting sweet potato fries over French Fries simply depends on my mood. Sometimes I want sweet potato fries, and sometimes I want French Fries drowned in ketchup.

They both taste good to me, so I can deal with either, taste-wise! However, if I had to choose between the two, I am going with sweet potato fries because it’s a healthier option.

Savor The Spice

Why do spicy foods taste good? My theory is that spicy food is so good because deep down we know that we probably shouldn’t be eating it.

One minute you are eating some amazing spicy foods and the next minute your stomach is paying the price. The good news is that if you take in spicy food in moderation, then you can get past this dilemma without giving up spicy foods.

This baked sweet potato fries recipe is a great example of having your spiciness in moderation.

The jalapenos that come with these loaded sweet potato fries give the food a kick that is great. While creating the recipe I did, however, took into consideration not to make it too spicy.

Surf, Turf, And Air?

As mentioned before, the beauty of creating your own surf n turf is that you can be as creative as you want to be. For some recipes I feel like to get the best results, you have to go with the “less is more” way of thinking.

That is not the case here. In fact, it is the opposite because this recipe has another factor and that is a turkey. If you want to, you can replace the ground turkey with ground beef and simply have surf n turf.

Personally, I like ground turkey more than I like ground beef.

Something A Little Different

Being a true foodie, I was hype to have different types of meats combined to make something delicious and unique. You can Google “surf and turf near me” all you want, but it is going to be hard to find a place that has a bird with the surf n turf.

I should come up with a name for that, but that is a conversation for another day. If you want a delicious bird other than turkey then chicken or duck would also be a great option.
