Now, what can I say about mangoes? They are sweet, they are tangy, and most of all, they are delicious, so why not combine them with something else delicious like chicken?

Oh, you think mangoes do not go with chicken? Well, buddy, ignorance is bliss, and so is the sweet and spicy mango wings sauce BBQ recipe.

The Sweet And Spicy Mango Wings Sauce BBQ Recipe

I enjoy some excellent mangoes, but with my love for the fruit, I never went out of my way to make a mango wings type of recipe. I do not know why because that sugar honey ice tea taste amazing!

No, I am not talking about a beverage silly goose, I’m talking about this spectacular sweet and spicy mango wings recipe.

Truthfully, I really do not know what took me so long to create a recipe like this, but what I can say is that I am sometimes lazy, so that is probably the reason why I am just now creating this recipe.

Yes, in my most sarcastic voice, it is soooooo hard to purée pieces of mango. Ooooohhhhh, cry me a river!!!

What can I say, when I get lazy I get REALLY LAZY, like a Snorlax. All my Pokémon trainers know what I’m talking about.

Is Mango Habanero Spicy?

The sweet and spicy mango wings sauce BBQ recipe may not have habaneros in it, but it has enough spiciness to get you where you need to be.

Furthermore, mango habaneros are spicy due to the habanero, but the sweetness that comes from the mango balance everything out.

How Spicy Is Mango Habanero?

Before we can discuss how spicy mango habanero is, let’s talk about how spicy habanero peppers are. Habanero peppers are probably some of the hottest pepper you will ever encounter in your lifetime.

Although habanero peppers are some of the hottest peppers on this earth, the sweetness of the mango calms the heat down, giving out a spicy, yet sweet flavor.

So for the people who do not mess with super spicy foods, do not worry, you should be alright with these wings.

What Are The Two Different Types Of Wings?

Chicken wings come in one piece, however, most wing places are going to cut that piece in half and give you the wings in that manner. This is their way of separating the drums and the flats.

Also, when most people think of two different types of wings, flats or drums is what they are referring to.

Are Drums Or Flats Better?

Drums, or drumettes, for the people that like to be fancy, look like baby chicken legs. Flats, or wingettes, for the people who eat finger foods with their pinky up, get their name because they are the opposite of the earth, flat!

Sorry, flat earth people.

Flats generally have less meat than drums, so you would think that by default, drums are better than flats, but that is not necessarily the case.

In particular, it is a superb feeling to eat some flats where the meat is falling off the bone.

You have the wing in your hand and with zero effort, you pull the bones out. Now you have a generous piece of meat to enjoy, bone-free.

Can You Combine Hot Sauce And Mango?

As mentioned before, the sweet and spicy mango wings sauce BBQ recipe does not have habanero peppers. Instead, this recipe uses the hot sauce to give the wings that spicy kick.

To answer the question of combining hot sauce with mango, yes, not only can you combine the two ingredients, but also the result will be amazing!

How Do You Get The Sauce To Stick To Chicken Wings?

There are multiple ways to get the sauce to stick to your chicken wings.

For starters, if you are baking the chicken wings, you can put the sauce on the wings right before you put them in the oven to cook.

Another way to make sure that the sauce stick to the wings is by putting the wings and the sauce in a pot and toss the wings. Using this method will coat the wings.

If you feel like the wings are not coated enough, then simply add more sauce and continue to toss the chicken wings.

The Exception To The Sauce Sticking Rule

Although you can add the sauce before the chicken wings start cooking in the oven, for the sweet and spicy mango wings we are not going to do that.

We will put the sauce on the chicken wings after the wings cook for a little while, however, the sauce will still be able to stick to the wings.

The reason for this is that we want these wings to fall off the bone and to do that the wings will be in the oven for quite some time.

Unfortunately, if this specific sauce that we are creating was in the oven for that same amount of time, then the sauce will burn, and we do not want that.

In my experience of cooking chicken wings, the sauce does not burn if you cook it with the chicken wings in the oven, however, these sauces have little to no sugar.

My fall-off the bone buffalo wings is an example of this. The same goes for the wet lemon pepper fall off the bone wings recipe and the garlic parmesan wings recipe.

The difference between those recipes and the sweet and spicy mango wings sauce BBQ recipe is that this recipe has plenty of sugar such as coconut sugar, honey, and the mango themselves.

With all that sugar, it is easier for the sauce to burn in the oven.

First things first, clean the chicken wings, then season the wings with salt and black pepper. Turn the oven on and let it preheat to 450 degrees.

After the ingredients are blended, put the sauce into a skillet and cook at a medium temperature for 10 minutes.

Stir frequently and monitor the sauce closely.

After an hour of being in the oven, take the chicken wings out of the oven and move them around to ensure that the wings do not stick to the foil.

Add the wings and sauce to a mixing bowl and toss the wings until they are fully coated.

If you do not want to toss the wings, you can use a mixing spoon instead.

Once the sauce is on the wings, place the wings back in the oven uncovered for 15 minutes. The next step after that is to enjoy your wings.

Time To Eat

To be honest, I do not have any final words of mango wisdom, so tangle with the mango. I do not know what that means, but it sounded good in my head. Anyway, enjoy your chicken wings.
