“Pineapples don’t go on everything”. I beg the difference with this sweet pineapple jalapeño bacon-wrapped hot dog recipe. This is also known as a swineapple hot dog recipe.

As good as pineapples are, it is crazy that people think pineapples are nasty on most things. What’s crazier is that these same people enjoy eating pineapples.

They don’t know what they’re missing, but one day they will join the dark side, woohahahaha. That is my evil laugh, by the way.

Pineapples are great to use for a topping. If you are not a big fan of pineapples in that manner, then try grilling them.

I promise you haven’t lived until you had some grill sweet pineapples.

Put that on some bacon-wrapped hot dogs with some grill onion and pickled jalapeños, and you got yourself a hot dog for the ages.

What Is Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs Called?

A lot of people like myself keep things simple and leave the name as bacon-wrapped hot dogs. However, this can differ depending on different factors.

For instance, bacon-wrapped hot dogs that are deep-fried are commonly known as Danger dogs.

Bacon-wrapped hot dogs with onions, jalapeños, and other varieties of peppers are called LA hot dogs.

Creating a bacon-wrapped hot dog with pineapple will create the swineapple hot dog.

How Do I Make Crispy Hot Dogs With Sweet Pineapples?

The sweet pineapple jalapeño bacon-wrapped hot dogs taste the best crispy. To achieve making the hot dogs crispy a grill, skillet, oven, etc. can be used.

These devices will make that swineapple dog crispy to perfection.

What Are The Benefits Of Eating Sweet Pineapples?

The sweet pineapple jalapeño bacon-wrapped hot dogs are tasty. Aside from that, this swineapple dog also carries the benefits that come from sweet pineapples.

Pineapples have tons of nutrients, antioxidants, and enzymes that assist with inflammation and diseases. Pineapples can also help with digestion, boost immunity, and speed recovery.

Are Jalapeños Good For Your Health?

Just like the sweet pineapples, jalapeños come with health benefits as well. The main factor that makes jalapeños good for your health is that they have capsaicin.

Capsaicin can be used for weight loss, pain relief, improving the health of your heart, and lowering your ulcer risk.

The cool thing is that whether you are eating pickled jalapeños or regular jalapeños, you will still receive the same health benefits.

What Do You Do With Pickled Jalapeños?

The pickled jalapeños give this recipe a certain level of spiciness that is balanced out by the other ingredients.

Pickled jalapeños are great with this recipe, but that is not the only thing it is great with.

I love to eat pickled jalapeños on pizza, nacho, fries, burgers, and sweet pineapples.

Is A Hot Dog Healthy For You?

Despite this swineapple hot dog recipe having pineapples and jalapeños which give health benefits, this recipe still contains ingredients that are processed.

If you are trying to live a healthier lifestyle, then try this recipe without the bacon and maybe replace the bun with something more keto-friendly.

The hot dog itself is still processed, but with these changes, the hot dog is a healthier option.

What Kind Of Onion Is best For Grilling?

Honestly, picking the best onion to grill is subjective. I like to go with white raw onions. If you want an onion with more of a sweetness to it, then you should try out yellow raw onions.

So how do you cut an onion for grilling? Slice the raw onions into thin long strips before grilling them with the sliced pickled jalapeños and sweet pineapples.

You can dice them up into small pieces if you want to, but that may cause you to have more work when you are trying to get the onions off the grill.

Preparing The Sweet Pineapple Jalapeño Bacon Wrapped Hot Dogs With An Inside Grill

Preheat your Inside grill, in the meantime wrap the hot dogs with bacon.

Cooking The Swineapple Hot Dog With Inside Grill

Once the grill is heated up, put the bacon-wrapped hot dogs on the grill for 4 minutes. Turn your hot dogs to the side so that the hot dogs can cook on all sides.

This will add another 2 minutes to the cooking time.

Preparing The Toppings For The Grill

While your hot dogs are cooking, you can start cutting the onions. If the pineapples aren’t cut/dice up already, then cut them as well.

I get my pineapples already diced up because the truth is, I am lazy, and I’m not ashamed of it. Grill the onions, pineapples, and pickled jalapeños for 3 minutes.

Using The Skillet To Cook The Swineapple Hot Dog

If you are using a skillet, instead of an inside grill, place the bacon-wrapped hot dog in the skillet. Cook the hot dogs on medium heat for 6 minutes.

Flip the hot dog and cook for another 6 minutes. For the remaining two sides, turn and cook the hot dogs for 1 minute and 30 seconds per remaining side.

Prepping The Toppings For The Skillet

Chop up the raw onions, pickled jalapeños, and sweet pineapples. Next, put them in the skillet or a pot. Cook the topping for 3 minutes at a medium temperature.

Assemble The Hot Dog

Once the food is done, you can start assembling the hot dog. Put the hot dog in the bun, then add your onions, sweet pineapples, and pickled jalapeños.

A hot dog of a lifetime is now created!

What Is The Best Hot Dog Bun?

When I am making a hot dog, I use potato hot dog buns. On the contrary, for the sweet pineapple jalapeño bacon-wrapped hot dogs recipe, I recommend using Hawaiian buns.

If you do not want to use either of those hot dog buns, then you should try using brioche buns.
